Tutorial |
|
What you need: |
| Winzip installed on your computer in case of a computer NOT operating on Windows XP |
| MS Outlook Express installed on the computer |
| How does it work? |
| Download the stationery by simply clicking on the link ‘download.eml’. |
|
All files are
in compressed in ZIP format. Once downloaded, extract the file and place
the extracted file in a random map. |
|
Once this is
done, it is simply a matter of double-clicking on the .eml file. Outlook
Express will open the file for you. |
|
Sometimes it
might seem that a stationery is incomplete. To see how the e-mail will
eventually look, follow these 4 simple steps: |
| 1. Start the stationery file. |
| 2. Click on ‘View’ in the taskbar of Outlook Express. |
| 3. mark ‘source' (you only have to do this once). |
| 4. Now click on the page ‘Example’. |
|
Incredimail |
|
I am very sorry, but I'm afraid that I only make stationery backgrounds for Outlook Express. If you want to use them, you have to start using Outlook Express as well. This application is included in the standard installation of Microsoft Windows or can be installed afterwards from the Windows CD for custumised Windows installations. Good luck. |
|
Attention! |
|
When updating Windows 98 see to it that the April 2003, Cumulative Patch for Outlook Express (330994) is nót installed. There is an error in this update because of which the stationery-files will not be sent properly, some images will not be there. |
|
For those amongst you who have already done this, this is the way to repair it: |
|
Download the inetcom.dll.zip file here . |
|
See to it that the computer is rebooted without internet access, if necessary unplug the modem. |
|
Backup the file c:/windows/system/inetcomm.dll and replace it by the one you have downloaded. |
|
When you have internet access this file cannot be replaced because windows is using it. |
| Windows XP SP2 |
| The options and possibilities of working with scripts will not have changed sunstantially after the installation of Windows XP SP2. The settings, however, do need customization. |
| Note: Both Internet Explorer and Outlook Express have heavy security. By changing the settings below, you will decrease Windows' own security and therefore a good anti-virus tool is absolutely necessary and we highly recommend a good firewall as well. |
| Outlook Express |
|
Go to tools /
options / security. Change the first setting to 'internet zone (less secure, but more functional)' Right below this option, there is a second option: 'block images and other external content in html e-mail'. Unmark it. |

| WINDOWS UPDATE KB911567 AND KB923694 |
| Those who update Windows XP on a regular basis will find that, after having installed the (security)-update KB911567 and KB923694, a problem occurs when double-clicking on an .eml-file: Although Outlook Express does open the files, it does not do so in 'send'-mode. In effect this means that you will not see "edit", "source" and "example", resulting in an uneditable e-mail. It is therefore not possible to send stationery e-mails. |
| This problem is relatively easy to solve. Download a registry key file here and save it to your desktop. When the download is complete, select the registry key on your desktop after closing Internet Explorer and Outlook Express. Click on it with your right mouse button. Select 'merge'. When you have done this, you may remove the registry key file from your desktop and the problem is solved. |
| HOTBAR |
| People using HOTBAR will have problems bij sending stationery. The stationery will be sent without pictures. The only way to delete HOTBAR from your computer is by using a uninstall program |
| Click here to download the HOTBAR uninstall program |
